Waltzing Matlida
Quote from BIndu V. on October 16, 2024, 7:13 pmHi,
Thank you for being so kind about implementing my previous requests for Nursery Rhymes!! Could you please do more in the kiddy space and add more songs like Waltzing Matilda and Clementine etc. All those popular songs that little ones can learn to sing with gusto when they are young!

Quote from TunePocket Support on October 18, 2024, 4:01 pmThanks for getting in touch. Waltzing Mathilda isn't a nursery rhyme strictly speaking but rather an Australian folk song. Some even consider it an unofficial national anthem 🙂
We'll consider the request (at the very least the instrumental version) but you might re-consider using it as a nursery rhyme.
Specifically:
The story ends with the swagman drowning and becoming a ghost. Death and haunting aren't typical topics for children's songs or nursery rhymes.
The central action in the song involves the swagman stealing a sheep and being chased by the police. This isn’t the kind of moral tale usually presented in nursery rhymes, which often emphasize simple lessons or joyful play.
Some of the language in "Waltzing Matilda" (like "swagman," "jumbuck," "billabong," "tucker bag") is very specific to Australia and might not be easily understood by young children outside of that context.
It's a great historic folk song nonetheless.

Quote from TunePocket Support on July 24, 2025, 2:21 pmAs requested, we have added an instrumental version of "Oh My Darling Clementine". The backing track edit is coming shortly.
We'll consider the vocal version as well but, wile the melody is undeniably catchy and widely recognized, the lyrics depict a rather somber narrative centering around the accidental drowning of a young girl.
Due to the sensitive nature of the storyline, it may not be the most suitable choice for inclusion in our children's collection, which emphasizes age-appropriate and uplifting themes.
Here's the instrumental version:
