How do I create a timestamp link for a YouTube video?

You have a number of options:

a) HARD Manually add ‘?t=Xs’ (where X is seconds) or ‘?t=YmXs’ (where Y is minutes) to the end of the YouTube URL.

b) EASIER Share a YouTube video directly on YouTube.

YouTube generated time links are rather long and do not include end time.

c) EASIEST If you need a short time link or if it’s essential to include the end time, use our super simple YouTube timestamps generator.

Can I set both a start and end time for YouTube links?

You can set a start time, but end times only work with embed links.

Timestamp links are regular YouTube URLs with a start time parameter that open directly on YouTube but lack options for autoplay, end times, or mute.

Embed links are used within iframes on websites, offering more control over playback, including start, end, autoplay, and more options.

Can I timestamp YouTube Shorts?

YouTube Shorts do not currently support start times in their URL format.
