YouTube 'inauthentic content' monetization update - not as bad as it sounds??

There's more clarity about YouTube's much anticipated (and dreaded) update to its monetization policies.

Essentially YouTube simply renamed the old "repetitious content" rule to something clearer. It's now called the "inauthentic content" policy.

The change is mostly about tightening the definition to include stuff that's repetitive or mass-produced. So yeah, all that AI-generated slop and low-effort spam uploads are definitely being targeted here.

Good news though. If you're making original content, edits, or even legit commentary or reaction videos, you're fine.

YouTube specifically said the reused content policy (for things like compilations and reactions) hasn't changed.

So it appears this update isn’t really punishing most creators.
