Some of the PROs are ASCAP, BMI in the US, SOCAN in Canada, PRS in the UK, GEMA in Germany, and many more around the world. If you use any music created by a PRO affiliated composer you may be required to obtain a performance license.

Not every situation requires you to get the performance license.
