We're starting to roll out 8 bit / 8 kHz a-law formatting for the audio files that are typically used in on hold systems to save you time on re-formatting the audio on your own.

You still will be able to download the original hi-res audio wav files, though. Here's and example:

If a particular file you need is not yet available in 8 bit formatting you can easily encode it using a free Audacity audio editor (we've just updated the tutorial to reflect the latest changes made to Audacity):
