Youtube monetization, and reuse content
Quote from sophea S. on July 27, 2023, 2:32 pmI am running a sleep music Youtube channel. I use Tunepocket music of course and I also have a license to all the graphic on the channel. I did minimum editing using a free software DaVinci Resolve and Canva Pro. The channel has met 4000 watch time and 1000 subscribers awhile back. I applied for the monetization but got rejected for reused content. Anybody on the same boat? Please share your experience and how to get the channel monetized. Thank you.

When it comes to monetization, YouTube's rules are constantly evolving and changing based on their own needs. Looks like YouTube wants to promote the creation of original content (that is, where people create videos from start to finish), as opposed to using 100% third party footage, licensed or not.
One of the strategies that still works (as reported by some of our users), is taking the relaxation videos to the next level by adding the original voice over. That is, making it a guided meditation. Thus, your voice becomes the original element of the video.
If you need scripts for the meditations, there's a big collection here:

We also put together a blog post discussing other options to monetize your channel if your monetization request was rejected:

Some people manage to get their channels sponsored directly. YouTube may not want to monetize sleep videos but there are plenty of businesses on that space and they may be interested in your content and audience:

Hope this helps!
